What is a Conservative?

May 15th, 2008 | Category: Politics

I saw this on Mike’s Blog, and I really liked it, so I thought I would also post it too.

“To be a conservative is, in my definition, is somebody that believes in the power of the individual, somebody that believes, please let me make my decisions, that I have a right to succeed and not be penalized for it. I have a right to fail and have no one run to me if I don’t want them to run to me. A conservative believes I have a right to manage my family, I have a right to discipline my family in the way I see fit, as long as it is not criminal. A conservative believes I have the right to worship God, I have a right to worship the God of my understanding, and I do not have the right to jam my version of God down anybody else’s throat or my version of no God down anybody’s throat. A conservative believes live and let live. That’s what a conservative believes. A conservative believes in the smallest amount of government, the smallest government you can get without anarchy. That’s what a conservative believes.”

Why I dislike Kyle Busch

May 14th, 2008 | Category: Sports

In Texas last year, a car spun in front of Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Jr. lifted to slow down as he drove into the smoke. No one could see for a few seconds, and Dale Jr. wisely slowed down to miss the accident. Kyle did the opposite, by driving blindly into the smoke with the accelerator pegged to the firewall. Naturally Kyle hit Dale Jr. a ton, wrecking both cars pretty badly. Back in the garage, cameras showed Kyle climbing from his car, roughly shoving past his crew members and storming away. As it turned out, Kyle left the track.

Near the end of the race, the 5 team of Kyle Busch got the car drivable again, but just barely. They went looking for their driver, but he was on his way home. Dale Jr., the driver Kyle had just taken out of the race, climbed into the car and finished the race. In that instance, Dale Earnhardt Jr. showed his class, and Kyle Busch showed his ass.

I think that Kyle Busch still stings from being released from his Hendrick ride last year to make way for Dale Earnhardt Jr. Some of the remarks he’s made since the announcement that Dale Jr. would be joining Hendrick Motorsports in 2008 led me to believe that he still harbors some resentment. Though Kyle has done very well at Joe Gibbs Racing, there appears to still be somewhat of a chip on the young man’s shoulder.

Associates Degree

May 08th, 2008 | Category: School

I am currently going to school at University of Phoenix. Currently, I am taking an economics class, which happens to be the last class before I finish my Associates Degree in Accounting.  The classes in the program, are 9 weeks long.  I am just now finishing up week 9, which means that I am pretty excited.  I just now have to fill out my application for Graduation, and send that back in to the school.

And by the way, I am not quiting school.  I am actually going to continue with my Bachelors, after a much needed 2 week break.

American Loser

May 07th, 2008 | Category: Entertainment,Random Thoughts

Once again, the person that left American Idol tonight, was just who I thought it would be.  Last night’s performances were pretty good.  Each of the four finalists chose 2 songs.  Three out of the four finalists had at least one decent song.  Jason Castro, however, did not.  Both of his songs were terrible choices.  Jason’s first choice was, “I Shot the Sheriff”.  Simon thought that his first performance was atrocious. His second song choice was, Mr. Tambourine Man, which he forgot a whole line of lyrics.  After his second song, Simon Cowell told him to pack his bags. I don’t know how the heck Jason has made it all the way to the Top 4.  There were some finalists that were voted off earlier in the season, that should have made it farther than Jason.

State of the Nation

May 04th, 2008 | Category: Politics

I have been doing a lot of thinking about the upcoming Presidential elections in November.  I am a big supporter of Mitt Romney, and think that he is/was the only true conservative.  I was reading Michael’s blog about Uniting the GOP.  I also don’t think I could vote for John McCain, unless he has a decent conservative running mate, like Romney.

However, at this point, I am still very uncertain who I will vote for.  I will definitly not vote for Obama for a couple of reasons: The first reason, is one that I won’t really go into. And Second, because of his views and how unpatriotic he is.  Also, I will never vote for Hillary Clinton, because I do not want another Clinton in the White House, and I also do not agree with her views.

Nascar Frustration…..

May 03rd, 2008 | Category: Sports

I am a pretty big fan of Nascar, especially when it comes to Dale Earnhardt Jr. Usually races are on Sundays except for this week’s race, which happened to be at Richmond on Saturday.  I had totally forgot about the race until around lap 350 out of 400.  Jr, was trying to get up to the front.  Denny Hamlin was winning, and led the most laps during the race.  During lap 379, Denny reported a flat tire, and Kyle Busch & Jr were able to catch up to him.  During lap 383, Jr takes the lead. On lap 395, he is five laps away from putting an end to his 71-race winless streak.  By this time, I am jumping for joy.  Well, my dreams were put to rest at lap 398, when Kyle Busch wrecked Jr and sent him into the wall.

I have never liked either of the Busch Brothers (Kyle or Kurt). After today’s episode caused by Kyle, I am even more frustrated with him and dislike him even more.  It will take me quite some time to get over this.  This is mainly, because I have been waiting so long to see Jr get a win, and then to have it spoiled by this foolishness.  Darrell Waltrip, says that it was not intentional.  The more I look at it, the more intentional it looks.  Kyle Busch totally screwed up, and I think he needs to be penalized and have his butt kicked.

Bush and a stupid reporter.

May 02nd, 2008 | Category: Humor,Politics

This is actually pretty funny.  I just saw it on another blog, and laughed quite a bit.  President Bush basically just told the reporter to “Shut Up”.  Not in those exact words, but in a round-about way. I don’t think I have ever seen something like this before.
